Those who could escape the miasma flocked to underground villages to start a new life. A deadly toxic presence has spread across the land, destroying and devouring everything in its path. In the near-future, society is starting to collapse, and the human population is at an all-time low. I don't imagine William would've had any way to chase down Charon and find the lucky coin or even have reason to.Eastward is a beautifully detailed and charming adventure game, from Shanghai-based indie developers, Pixpil. But the antagonistic Mother we saw throughout the game clearly wouldn't associate with human beings like that, so I can only assume the Sam we see at the end is either a new Sam or the Rocket Team's Mother.Īs for the coin, I think the only viable answer is that John gave it back to him.
#Eastward chapter 4 cracked#
They talked about her like she was an old friend that they got along with and how she only ever cracked a smile when playing earthborn. If not, it might be the body of the Mother the Rocket team was talking about. Sam was found in the same pod as the other artificially created human beings we've seen in the game, so I assume that's how she got resurrected. The timeline is confusing when you try to explain Solomon. I honestly still wonder if they were seperate Solomons or they were all the same one. Isabel seemed to be one, being immortal and all and lacking in emotions towards anyone, but Alva. I imagine it's also related to the question where did Sam or Mother come from? Maybe he's one of the advanced lifeforms Mother had created. I don't believe there was any real background information on Solomon unfortunately. Or it might've been because Alva's grandfather was from Ester city as well. Also it's been said by other npcs that the people there are rumored to be immortal which was technically true because time was in a loop. I think it's because Ester city is home to the greatest minds and could be argued the most advance in that case. The opening of the game shows John finding Sam in what looks like to be the forbidden land. I believe John and Sam met in Potcrock Isle. John is in search of Sam and met up with Williams and John have back the lucky coin (maybe to help him fix Daniel) before departing so William is going on an adventure to find them as well. After the Sams body was destroyed but her spirit remained, probably found another of her clones and resurrected but lost her memories only to find John again. Then John finds Sam a clone of mother in the mines. During this time mother kept wiping out humans but due to mothers old clones humans kept rebuilding civilization. Don't know if time loop happened first or Charoin happened first but they city was in this state for tens of thousands of years. Solomon in Easter city created the time loop on Easter city to create an eternal future. Mother got disappointed in humans and wanted to wipe them out and created the Charon and miasma to kill humans. So I imagine (could be wrong) scholars in Easter city developed artificial humans and the first mother and raised her. It's possible that Solomon and other artificial humans were created by mother (but Izzy said she has no mother so perhaps Alva discovered her) thus it's possible the Solomons were multiple different Solomons. When Solomon first met Sam and the red spirit form of mother he already recognized her. She is also immortal (either doesn't age or she can maintain spirit form and take on the form via another clone of her body). Humans originally created artificial humans, and then mother, perhaps the people at Easter city raised mother. They said the miasma destroyed humans while mother or even a piece of her could bring back civilization.

Solomons story is really strange, I am really confused. Izzy took Alva to Ester city possibly trying to find a cure or the technology to ressurect her, but given the options she could only clone Alva. I think John found Sam in the mines because one of the NPCs said to John he is the first one to dig up a human. I am confused as to what's going on myself but it's fun this way because hopefully on second playthrough I can discover more.
